Keeping safe over the Easter Holidays

Easter is a time for all Australians to kick back, take a well-deserved break from work and enjoy the holiday with family and friends.

With last year’s Easter road toll being the worst in more than 20 years, Pro Safety and Training urges Motorists to make their safety and the safety of others their number one priority.

To keep safe on the roads this Easter keep the following factors in mind:

Phones- Never use your phone while driving, if you do need to take or make a call, pull over and make it while stationary. Research shows that using your mobile phone when driving is similar to drink driving.

Speed Limits- Stick to them. There is no rush whatsoever, obey speed limits and always allow more travel time.

Keep your car maintained- Ensure your tyre pressure is correct, your vehicle has been serviced and your car is in excellent running condition.

Drive to the conditions- If it is raining slow down, keep your distance from other road users and always follow the road rules.

Never drive drunk- If you are planning on having a few drinks over the Easter break make sure you have planned ahead- catch a cab, get a lift from a sober friend or stay the night.

Avoid Fatigue- Get a good night of sleep and ensure your journey involves hydration, plenty of rest stops and never drive fatigued.

Wear your seatbelt- It’s simple but always buckle up.

Never attempt to drive through flood waters- If it is flooded then forget it, never attempt to cross flood waters.

Plan your trip- Think your trip through and ensure all details are written down.

Pro Safety and Training wishes you and your families a Happy Easter!
